The Neuromuscular Center (NMC) is one of three major divisions of the Institute for Exercise and Environmental Medicine (IEEM), a clinical and research facility sponsored by Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Members of the medical staff combine their knowledge with basic science and clinical research to apply scientific discovery to human conditions that affect exercise performance.

The NMC is dedicated to evaluating and treating individuals who experience abnormal muscle pain, fatigue, and weakness with exercise. The symptoms are often caused by metabolic muscle disorders that are difficult to diagnose by conventional methods, so patients and their doctors can be frustrated for years.

The Center is directed by Dr. Ronald G. Haller, an international expert in metabolic disorders of skeletal muscle. He is joined by Dr. Alan Martin who serves as the center's Clinical Director and has extensive clinical experience in the management of patients with neuromuscular disorders.

The NMC brings together an exceptional staff of clinicians and scientists who are recognized as world experts in the development and application of exercise and biochemical testing. Combining these human resources with an exceptional facility permits an unmatched capability to evaluate and treat disorders of exercise intolerance and to discover new scientific knowledge through research on these conditions.
